 The Department of East Asian Studies’ Wilayah: The International Journal of East Asian Studies is a high-quality, open-access, peer-reviewed journal published by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Universiti Malaya. Wilayah provides a platform for the dissemination and exchange of knowledge through high-quality multidisciplinary research articles focusing on East Asian issues. This is a special issue on  Japanese Studies at the Universiti Malaya.

Volume 12 (2) was published online in September 2023 and features five accepted papers authored by eight researchers.
