Abstract

The Law Library of the University uses the Los Angeles County Law Library scheme of classification. This scheme was however found to be unsuitable for local conditions and needs. If' this .article the author informs us of the special system of location symbols which she devised to distinguish the various forms of legal materials. A subject classification for leqa! textbooks was also devised. This system has been used successfully in the Law l.tbrdry, University of Malaya .since 1975. Several other locallibr~ries have also started using this system for their collection of legal materials
