Qawa’id al-Tadabbur is a methodology or an approach to understand in great depth by mind, heart and soul the meaning of the Quran either implicitly or explicitly. Meanwhile, Qawa’id al-Tafseer is a discipline for mufassireen to analyze and comprehend the meaning of Quran. However, the definition of Qawa’id al-Tadabbur encountered some views and criticism. This article provides enlightenment on the meaning and definition of Qawa’id al-Tadabbur and the comparison with Qawa'id al-Tafseer. Hence, the comparison of the definitions and concepts for both Qawa'id will explain the differences and the relationship between them.
