Escalation in Quranic Discourse Sūrah Al-Kāfirūn as a Model

The study aims at analyzing the phenomenon of escalation in Qur’anic discourse in Surah al- Kafiroon as an example. Discourse escalation is considered one of the Qur’anic features that requires thinking and use of mind to reveal its secrets and various features. The study consists of examples from Surah al-Kafiroon as a step to examine discourse escalation in the Qur’an at phonological, morphological and semantic levels. Finally, I hope this study would open the door for more deeper researches on Qur’anic discourse that may be used as the basis for Arabic discourse.
