Abstract
Conflicts between spouses happen due to various reasons; people resolve and address these conflicts in different ways. To sustain marital life, and to ensure the stability of the society, the researcher aims to study this social phenomenon. The study derives its value from the great value that Islam attaches to resolving conflicts between spouses. The aim of the research is to find the root causes of marital disputes and identify ways to address them as indicated by the Qur'an. The research adopted an inductive method, guided by the Quranic verses to reveal the causes of marital disputes, and ways to address them. The research also relied on the analytical method to analyze the reasons behind these conflicts, and therefore classifies them into reasons before marriage, reasons after marriage, reasons pertaining to the husband, others pertaining to the wife, and reasons dictated by the society.
