The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in mobile applications has emerged as a transformative force in Islamic education, particularly in the practice of Quran memorization and review (murajaah). This descriptive content analysis study critically examines the current state of AI-powered mobile applications designed to support Quranic learning, analyzing technological features, pedagogical innovations, and associated challenges. Through systematic comparative content analysis of eleven major applications, including Qara'a, Tarteel, and other relevant platforms, this study identifies key technological innovations such as voice recognition, natural language processing, and adaptive learning algorithms. The findings reveal the significant potential of these technologies in enhancing traditional Quranic education through personalized learning experiences, real-time feedback mechanisms, and improved global accessibility. However, critical challenges persist in the domains of technical accuracy, particularly related to the linguistic complexities of Classical Arabic, religious sensitivity issues, algorithmic bias, data privacy, and profound ethical and pedagogical considerations. This study contributes to the growing body of literature on educational technology in Islamic contexts and presents a balanced analysis that can guide future development, while proposing a hybrid integration model that harmonizes technological innovation with Islamic scholarly traditions.
