HISTORY

The Journal of Statistical Modeling and Analytics (JOSMA) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to publishing original research articles, reviews, and applied studies in the fields of statistical modeling, data analytics, and applied statistics. The journal welcomes contributions from researchers, practitioners, and academics who aim to advance the use of statistical science in solving real-world problems.

The Journal of Statistical Modeling and Analytics (JOSMA) was originally established and published by the Malaysian Statistical Institute (ISMy), Malaysia with the goal of fostering statistical knowledge and supporting the academic growth of the statistical community in Malaysia and beyond.

JOSMA actively published several issues during its initial years. However, in 2011, the journal was temporarily discontinued due to the absence of a designated editorial lead.

After a decade-long hiatus, JOSMA was successfully revived in 2021 through the collaborative efforts of ISMy and the Centre for Foundation Studies. Since its re-establishment, the journal has experienced consistent growth in both submissions and readership.

As of today, nine (9) issues have been published under the revived series, continuing JOSMA’s mission to serve as a platform for high-impact statistical research and analytics.
